A Backpack Drive for Greater New Orleans Students
We have kept homes across the Greater New Orleans area comfortable since 2006, and this July we are turning that same energy toward the kids in our community. #CoolHomesBrightFutures is our pledge to fill 100 backpacks with school supplies for local students before the new school year starts. When someone in our community needs a hand, we show up, the same way we show up for every service call.
Calloway & Sons started this campaign because a comfortable home and a strong start at school go hand in hand. If a family is stretching their budget through a hot Louisiana summer, notebooks and crayons often fall to the bottom of the list. That is why we are asking our customers, vendors, and neighbors to help us close that gap, one backpack at a time.

Our Goal: 100 Backpacks for Local Students
Our goal is simple: fill 100 backpacks with the supplies students need and get them into local hands before the first bell rings. Each backpack we hand out will include notebooks, folders, pencils, crayons, a ruler, and a water bottle, the same kind of list a teacher sends home every August.
Reaching that number depends on how many people in our community decide to join us.
How We’re Giving Back This July
A Backpack for Every System Replacement
Throughout July, we are sponsoring one backpack for every system replacement our technicians complete. That means every homeowner who trusts us with a new air conditioning or heating system this month is also helping a student down the street start school with the supplies they need. It is a small connection, but it adds up fast once a full month of installs is behind it.
Ways You Can Help
Reaching 100 backpacks takes more than one company. Our customers, vendors, and neighbors across the Greater New Orleans area can each play a part.
Four ways you can join #CoolHomesBrightFutures:
- Donate backpacks – Drop off a new backpack at our office, or reach out to arrange a pickup.
- Donate school supplies – Notebooks, folders, pencils, and crayons all go into the backpacks we hand out.
- Sponsor one or more backpacks – A donation through Givebutter covers the cost of a fully stocked backpack for one student.
- Share and spread the word – Post about the campaign on Facebook or Instagram and tag #CoolHomesBrightFutures so more neighbors hear about it.
Every backpack donated, every supply dropped off, and every post shared moves us closer to the 100 we are working toward.
